Bouldering at the Tugging Shacks, New River Gorge
The Tugging Shacks is a small, yet very cool bouldering area near Interp and OUL at the New River Gorge. While mentioned on the Waterstone Outdoors site and in an old paper guidebook, there are no details in the popular Sketches guidebook by Chris Anthony.
Here are some shots of a classic V3 arete at the Tugging Shacks.

Got something to say?

Tom,
Wow, been following your site for awhile. Great stuff here, Like this one with the rock your guys are trying to scale. Adds a little entertainment and visual of how difficult it is to climb a boulder. My grandson scurries up them like a spider…guess that is why he is a fan of spiderman. I’ll be back to check in on your blog from time to time
