How to Fit a Backpack

by Tom Markiewicz on April 7, 2009

Gregory Mountain Products founder, Wayne Gregory, discusses how to fit a pack. In the video, Gregory states “people don’t buy packs to fit their bodies, they buy packs to dump their gear in.” He then proceeds to show the better way of fitting packs.

Thank you SO much. Wayne Gregory! This video gave perfect instruction on fitting a pack to my son. Great information about a great pack!

This is one of the best instruction videos on the web. Wayne does a nice job of showing while telling that really helps out newbies trying to find the right pack.

I’ve had a Gregory Baltoro backpack for 2-3 years and its very comfortable. Still, I (and evreryone I know) have always buckled the waist belt first. Also, it seems as if I am always adjuting the sgoulder straps. After seeing this video, I’ll readjust my shulder straps, with better knowledge on how it should fit in the end.

I was having a horrible time finding the right spot for the hip belt. I’m very high waisted female and I was always putting it on wrong. The shoulder shrug settles it right where it needs to go. Thanks Gregory!

After almost ruining my backpacking holiday from hurting my shoulder from bag not fitting correctly I can say first hand just how important this advice is
