The film was Great. But what I found most surprising was the fact that is was presented by the American Alpine Club. Who knew that an organization of what is thought to be old dudes climbing big peaks was affiliated with bouldering. Pretty cool.

Nice review Tom.

The DVD will be out in a month or so. Maybe the DVD will include a list of where these problems are located.

Thanks Ryan. Yeah, I agree and I think what you're talking about ties into one of my last comments above about being able to get inside the heads of the climbers on these highballs.

I also thought the movie was great, but agree that it would have been nice to see locations for each of the climbs. Perhaps publishing the list online would be a good compromise between trying not to make the film "too Colorado" and also letting us know where to go to attempt some of those killer looking problems.

I think the movie could have also benefited from focusing a bit more on the audio of the climbers themselves, rather than the soundtrack. There are a few key moments where fading out the music and turning up the breathing of the climbers (who were all mic'd) would have added immensely to the tension and suspense. With the pumping soundtrack, sometimes it was hard to tell if they were even nervous at all!
